Nedlands | Grandwood, by Zorzi BUILDERS
Taking inspiration from architects like Frank
Lloyd Wright, the clients wanted a home
with a classic yet modern feel that their family
would grow into.
The unusual block is relatively flat until the
middle section, where the land drops sharply by
two metres, then levels off.
To accommodate this change in levels, the
home was designed to feature a split level through
the middle of the home.
This created some very distinct proportions that
called for unique and interesting design elements
throughout the residence.
The study is one of the home’s most fascinating
talking points with a ‘floor window’ that
cantilevers out over the pool. There’s also the
solid-timber stair treads that suspend out of
a granite-clad wall and over a water feature.
Most striking in this home is the attention to
detail and the combined use of natural elements.
Timber flooring, solid-timber doors and
custom-made, solid-timber cabinetry complement
stone floors, benchtops and cladded walls.
Externally, the pool and alfresco area form
another important hub of the home where relaxing
or entertaining can be done in style.
