Floreat | Craig Sheiles Homes BUILDERS
Taking cues from mid-century modern
architecture, this Floreat house was designed
and constructed by Craig Sheiles Homes.
With the direction of designer Mick Rule,
it explores contemporary style that is bold
in form and refined in its composition.
The home, situated on a 700sqm block
of suburban infill, is a perfect example of
Craig Sheiles Homes’s progression towards
current market needs.
This demonstration home perfectly
presents the company’s newfound interest
in luxury residential builds, through the infill
residential areas of Perth’s leafy suburbs.
127 Grovedale consists of a series of simple
intersecting and overlapping rectangular boxes
with double-volume heights that create dramatic
spatial relationships within the open-plan layout.
Each box provides a zoned arrangement, which
is organised around a central void and staircase.
Private and shared family spaces flow from this
The design suits families who have teenage
children, or empty nesters who wish to inhabit
the ground floor while using the upstairs level
as dedicated guest quarters.
A natural palette of materials has been applied
to the typical contemporary white-box facade,
providing a juxtaposition of materials and finishes.
Textured Japanese tiles are placed on the staircase
