odic Constructions delved into the lifestyle
of their clients to get a sense of how they
intended to use their home, and so create
the home their hearts desired.
The clients were downsizing from a large family
home to a smaller home because they had adult
children who were no longer dependant. However
they were mindful of catering to future needs,
ensuring sufficient space for family gatherings
with children and grandchildren.
Milorad “Mick” Rodic (BArch) designed the
home, built by Rodic Constructions Pty Ltd – a
contemporary open-living home with a floating
skillion roof. It was ideally positioned on a level,
elevated, corner site of 353sqm.
Simple lines with a large expanse of glass
define the home and take maximum advantage of
magnifying space and natural light. Adding to this,
the two-storey design has an open plan format
that allows permeation of light and flow.
A large central galley kitchen is the hub of
the home, and adjoins the open dining and
living precincts. These overlook the outside
The home has two main bedrooms
with ensuites, which allow for the flexibility
of upstairs or downstairs living.
The downstairs bedroom can also be
utilised as a guest suite. The home has a
7.5 star rating for energy efficiency, which
well exceeds the required six-star rating.
The clients will enjoy living in their new
streamlined residence that will cater perfectly
to their current lifestyle.
Simple lines and a large expanse of
glass define the home and take
advantage of available light.
