The marina is surrounded by a vibrant
village activated with ample promenades,
shops and restaurants.
Asempty nesters, the owners of this home
were keen to downsize. They requested
separation between the guests and their
bedroom, so two distinct areas were designed,
connected by a central hallway that is flanked on
both sides by courtyard gardens.
Designed by Craig Muir and constructed by
RiverStone, the guest wing is located on the upper
level at the front of the home, while the owner’s
bedroom wing and the main kitchen, living and
dining areas make up the single-storey element
spanning the wide rear section of the block.
The main living and master bedroom also
open to the north-facing garden and have direct
access to the swimming pool.
Key sustainable features include a solar PV
system, underground rainwater tanks, and a
pergola with an adjustable roof to control solar
penetration into the home.
The hybrid style of the home sees the two-storey
front portion adopt a modern ‘cubist’ style to meet
the owner’s aesthetic preference. The rear single-
storey space features a pitched roof with wide eaves
to protect the interior from harsh sunlight. This
home is currently open for display.
The exterior front portion of the house (below)
was designed along modern ‘cubist’ lines.
