4/245 Churchill Avenue, Subiaco P (08) 9388 7244 W www.wrightfeldhusen.com
This holiday home has two intimate
rammed-earth sleeping wings
which come together at a glazed
pavilion that forms the main living
area. All of the building materials
were specifically sourced to deal
with the harsh marine environment.
A large glassed pavilion nestled
into the hill, the ground level of this
home enjoys sound and privacy
separation from the activities on the
floor above, while the transparency
of the main living area makes the
most of the view.

The brief for this home called for
sustainability, no air-con and ample
heating in winter. It keeps its carbon
footprint low by using a highly
insulated, locally sourced timber
frame, recycled material from the
site and no external painting.
NDP Design specialises in creating modern, functional, custom-designed homes, additions,
alterations and boutique developments – from single-storey to luxury homes.
Level 1, 226 Main Street, Osborne Park P (08) 9440 0900 W www.ndpdesign.com.au
The look of this new home needed to
complement the adjoining modern
home. Natural stone and stained
timber were used throughout to
contribute to a home that suits the
needs of a growing family for privacy
and the ability to entertain.
With a brief for a warm and inviting
resort-like home, this features four
bedrooms, three bathrooms, a home
office and two living areas. The home
gently steps down with the natural
fall of the land, using stepped ceiling
details to great effect.
The unique design company specialises in providing passive solar homes that are
energy- and water-efficient and low-allergen, with a low environmental impact.
23 Green Street, Mount Hawthorn P (08) 9444 4400 W www.solardwellings.com.au
This bright home has been designed
for protection from the harsh summer
sun and to facilitate energy-efficiency
expansion and a greywater recycling
system in the future. It won the
2010 HIA GreenSmart Award for

Suite 1, 157 Main Street, Osborne Park P (08) 9201 9993 W www.dcdesign.com.au
These two homes on two street
frontages had to be unique in
appearance. One combines materials
and adds texture, the other contrasts
as a modern minimalist-inspired
home. They are linked by a common
cantilevered fully glazed stairwell.
Kensington Design’s team of five dedicated and experienced professionals offers
creative yet practical design solutions together with individually managed construction.
24 May Street, East Fremantle P (08) 9438 3288 W www.kensingtondesign.com.au
This low-maintenance, double-storey
home was classically styled, with all
bedrooms upstairs and space to add a
pool in the future. The design offers a
transparency and harmony between
the house and garden, integrating the
home with its site.
