Zorzi South was called upon to create a home that
the owners could spend ‘the rest of their lives’ in,
on this beachfront block in Busselton.
With uninterrupted views from Cape
Naturaliste to the Busselton Jetty, the main
focus of the design was on capturing the vista.
Zorzi South also had to make use of rear access
from the street behind when the time came to
construct the garage.
While the owners leant towards classical design
aspects, they asked for the fitout and cabinetry to
be contemporary in style. For the exterior, Zorzi
South opted for classical elements, such as corbelling,
colonial bars and sandstone columns. They
balanced these with more modern effects, such as
stainless steel balustrades and cedar-lined eaves.
Internally, decorative ceilings feature ornate
plaster-glass cornicing, while a jaw-dropping,
Swarovski crystal chandelier hangs from a ceiling
dome above the staircase. Large, beautifully crafted,
timber skirtings and architraves add to the classical,
polished feel of the home, while a large, curved,
polished plaster wall makes a bold statement.
Throughout the home, these traditional
construction aspects are offset by ultra-modern
cabinetry, from the frameless, glass shower
screens to the polished, stainless steel balustrades.
It is a balance that not only appeals to the owners’
tastes, but also suits their lifestyle.
Classical elements, such as corbelling and colonial
bars, are balanced by more modern effects, such
as frameless glass and stainless steel fittings.
