Anyone who has ever entered into the
mammoth task of designing and building
a home will know just how many things
there are to consider. Deciding whether to go
through an architect or a builder is just one of
the big questions.
Buildwise makes life that little bit easier,
with its own award-winning, in-house architect.
Working closely with the construction team,
the architect creates individual, yet practical,
solutions that translate into outstanding value for
money and a stress-free process for clients.
This formula is a winning one – since 1994,
Buildwise has collected numerous design and
construction awards and has developed an
enviable reputation as a building company that
not only delivers quality abodes, but also listens
to its clients’ every need.
The owner, designer and builder of this striking
Nedlands home looked to esteemed architect
Frank Lloyd Wright for inspiration.
The home mimics the horizontal lines,
flat roofs with broad overhanging eaves and
integration with the landscape reminiscent of
Wright’s ‘Prairie Houses’.
The seamless integration of the exterior and
the interior was created with the use of large glass
panels, natural materials and same-level flooring
from the home’s entrance to the backyard.
Toodyay stone and teak flooring were used
throughout and create flow from the inside to the
exterior. Large glass doors allow access to the
outdoor entertaining area, pool and magnificently
landscaped gardens, while opening the home up
even more: from the front door, it is possible to see
the trees in the park behind the house.
The horizontal lines, flat roofs and broad,
overhanging eaves are reminiscent of
