After just celebrating its 10-year anniversary,
Crothers Construction in Geraldton is looking

The company is led by David Crothers, who
launched his company in 1999 with 33 years
of building experience to his name.

Crothers Construction Pty Ltd was employed to create
a strong, durable home on the beach. Considering the
incredible location, the clients requested the views be
taken full advantage of at every opportunity.
A selection of long lasting and low maintenance
materials were to be used.
Strong, south-westerly winds were an issue, therefore
the front upstairs verandah of the home needed to be
The client wanted to ensure the verandah could
be used come rain, hail or shine so it needed to be
A contemporary three-bedroom home with two and a
half bathrooms was created. There are two living areas
-- one upstairs and one downstairs -- allowing the owners
the flexibility of choice, especially when entertaining.
From every aspect, the view of the foreshore has been
taken into consideration. The upstairs balcony has been fully
enclosed with bifold windows allowing the homeowners
to bring the outdoors in, during fine weather.
The ceiling above the balcony was timber-lined,
making it a beautiful area to entertain.
A built-in electric barbecue was incorporated onto
the balcony, making it easier for the clients to mingle
with their guests while hosting a dinner party.
Considering the home's location by the beach,
Crothers Construction has used durable materials to
ensure the home looks good well into the future.
Structural, steel roof framing with steel purlins was
installed. The roof sheeting was aluminium and powder-
coated with boxed gutters.
Comfort Plus glass was used throughout the home
for its thermal insulation and solar control performance
qualities. These benefits make Comfort Plus glass a
superior product to standard glass.
Stainless steel balustrading not only looks good, it is
also utilising a robust material that copes well with close

accessible mezzanine level, and features a polished,
3000-grit concrete floor.
